I stop before my hands move. I take a slow, deep breath. I can try to ask with my words.
I stop. I take a deep breath. I can try to ask.
I walk over to where Mara sits. I say, 'Can I please have a turn? ' Mara hears my calm words.
Sammy: "Can I please have a turn?"
I walk to Mara. I say please. Mara hears me.
Mara did not know I wanted the block. She holds it out to share. The teacher sees us working it out.
Mara: "Here, Sammy! Let's share."
Adult: "I love how Sammy asked."
Mara did not know. She shares the block. The teacher smiles.
