Asking to Play at the Busy Park

I am good at watching before I join. I notice what other children are doing. Watching first helps me feel ready.

The Park Feels Busy

Today the park has lots of children. They are running and calling to each other. I want to play but feel unsure. It is okay to feel unsure sometimes.

Mom Explains

Mom sits with me on a bench. She says asking is how children join in. Children wait for a good moment first. I can try raising my hand to ask.

Walking Over to Ask

I see Mara building at the sandbox. I wait for a quiet moment. Then I walk over to Mara. I ask her if she wants a helper.

Playing Together

Mara smiles and makes room for me. We take turns adding sand. Mom watches from the bench nearby. Waiting for my turn feels good.

A New Friend!

Today I asked a friend to play. I waited and took my turn. I made a new friend today. Asking helped me find a friend.
