It is break time! Sammy wants to go on the big slide. It is his favourite thing at the playground. But there is a queue. Other children are waiting too.
Sammy joins the queue. His body feels wiggly. His feet want to run to the front. Waiting is hard! He wants his turn NOW.
Sammy thinks about pushing to the front. He wonders what would happen. The other children might feel sad and cross because they were waiting too. Everyone in the queue is waiting for their turn.
Sammy takes a deep breath in... and out. He counts in his head: one, two, three, four, five. He looks at the clouds while he waits. Waiting is getting easier!
It is Sammy's turn! He climbs the ladder and sits at the top. WHEEE! Down he goes! The slide feels extra special because he waited his turn.
Sammy: "Wheeee!"
It is Sammy's turn now. He waited, and then he got to enjoy the slide! Waiting was hard, but he did it. Sammy might feel proud of himself. He knows he can try waiting again next time.
Sammy: "I waited and I got my turn! I can try that again."
