When School Feels Too Loud for Me

I am curious about new places. I like to explore and discover. I am brave when things are new.

The Hallway Is Very Loud

Today is my first day of school. The hallway has many children in it. The sounds are loud and very big. My tummy feels tight and different.

The Calm Corner

It is okay to need a break. My teacher knows a quiet spot. She shows me the calm corner today. I breathe slowly in the quiet place.

Breathing Helps

I breathe in and then breathe out. Each breath helps my body feel calmer. The tight feeling in my tummy fades. I feel ready to go back soon.

Asking for Help

After lunch, the classroom gets louder. I feel my tummy getting tight again. I can try asking my teacher for help. She walks with me to the corner. I breathe and feel calm once more.

A Brave First Day

School is over for today. I found a way through the loud parts. Asking for help felt brave. I know where the calm corner is. Tomorrow the calm corner will be there.
